Offer of Scholarships under the AYUSH Scholarship Scheme for the Academic Year 2019-20 (104 Slots)

Indian Council of Cultural Relations (ICCR), New Delhi offers scholarships for 104 slots (30 slots for BIMSTEC countries, 20 slots for Non-BIMSTEC countries, 29 slots for South East Asian countries and 20 slots for Malaysia and 5 for African countries) of the above mentioned scheme to foreign scholars for studying Undergraduate/Post Graduate/Ph.D courses related to Yoga, Ayurveda, Unani, Siddha and Homeopathy medicine in Indian Universities/Institutuions/Colleges.

The details and terms & conditions of the scholarship is given at the end of this notice. It may also be seen on http://a2ascholarships.iccr.gov.in/. However, the salient features of the Scheme are as under:

  • * The applications will be accepted online only through the portal 
    http://a2ascholarships.iccr.gov.in/. Detailed guidelines on the process of applying for ICCR scholarships online on the A2A Portal and the procedure and norms governing the same is given on thewww.a2ascholarships.iccr.gov.in. The applicants are required to register (signup) themselves on the portal before filling up of application. The last date of application through the portal is 17th of July 2019.

  • * Applicants are advised to exercise due diligence and research on the specific admission criteria laid down by various Universities for each subject, and ensure that they submit all relevant documentation as required by the Universities in addition to the basic certificates mentioned in the application form. For this. they may refer to the Universities handbook/University Grants Commission’s website and the concerned Institute’s website for eligibility criteria.

  • * For the admission to BAMS, BSMS, BUMS, BHMS, MD (Ayurveda), MD (Siddha), MD (Unani), MD (Homeopathy), Ph.D (Ayurveda) and Unani) courese the candidates must have taken Physics, Chemistry & Biology (PCB) in their school leaving examinations, as this is mandatory for undergraduate courses and BAMS, BSMS, BUMS, BHMS, B.Sc. (Yoga) certificate is mandatory for post graduation courses.

  • * The Scholars, after award of scholarship, will be entitled to return economy class air-fares to the nearest airport and 3rd AC train fare to the place of study apart from applicable allowances/stipend.

  • * Scholars must be of 18 years of age at the time of admission in Indian Universities/Insittutes

  • * Proficiency in English is a mandatory requirement.

  • * The scholars are advised to obtain information and make a realistinc assessment of India, and of the living conditions of the place of educational institutions.

  • * In order to ensure security of the foreign students, the ICCR has decided to make it compulsory for all ICCR sponsored students to stay inside hostel whereever available. No student shalll be allowed to stay in private accommodation as per the policy of the ICCR. The scholar is required to submit an undertaking in this regard before he or she is recommended for admission.

  • * The applicant should be physically fit and must not be suffering from life threatening illness or any other medical condition requiring long term treatment.
