Global Exhibition on Services 15 18 May, 2018 at Bombay Exhibition Centre, Mumbai

The Department of Commerce, Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Government of India,  Services Export Promotion Council (SEPC) and the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) are organizing the 4th edition of Global Exhibition on Services (GES) from 15th – 18 May, 2018 at Bombay Exhibition Centre, Mumbai.

          Services are the growing frontier of global trade. In terms of contribution towards GDP, FDI, exports and employment generation, services are becoming a dominant driver of economic growth, both in developed and developing countries. In India too, the services sector remains the key driver of India’s economic growth, contributing almost 53 percent of its Gross Value Added in 2016-17.

          Recognizing the importance of this sector, the first GES was inaugurated in 2015 by Hon’ble Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi, with an objective of providing a global platform for increasing trade in services, enhancing strategic cooperation and strengthening multilateral relationships between all stakeholders to explore new business avenues. The subsequent editions were inaugurated by the then President of India in 2016 and 2017.  GES 2017 was a huge success with participation from about 73 countries and more than 5000 structured B2B meetings.

          GES 2018 proposes to focus on Services sector excellence to expand its global footprint. This event shall have participation from about 100 countries and will also host 30 knowledge sessions and scores of B2B & B2G meetings. The event would showcase the following services sectors – banking & financial services, education, energy services, environmental services, exhibition & event services, facility management, healthcare, IT & telecom, logistics, media & entertainment, next gencities, printing & publishing, professional services, railway services, retail & e-commerce, skills, space, sports services, start-ups / SME, tourism & hospitality and wellness services.

          The focus of global growth remains largely in Asia of which India is an important player. With a favourable demographic profile and growing education and skill attainments, services sector offers a huge potential in Asia & Africa. GES will provide an ideal platform for showcasing services sector opportunities to Indian as well as Global counterparts.

          GES 2018 will make dedicated effort to ensure the presence of buyers in large numbers so that the B2B meetings are to the satisfaction of exhibitors and useful business partnerships are forged.
